Indian Air Force invites applications from UNMARRIED MALE INDIAN CITIZENS

ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA

Educational Qualification :
(a) Passed Intermediate/ 10+2 / Equivalent Examination with Mathematics, Physics and English, with minimum 50% marks in aggregate and 50% marks in English.
                                                            OR
(b) Three year Diploma Course in Engineering (Mechanical / Electrical / Electronics / Automobile / Computer Science / Instrumentation Technology / InformationTechnology) from a Government recognised Polytechnic Institute with 50% marks in overall aggregate and 50% marks in English in Diploma Course or in Intermediate / Matriculation, if English is not a subject in Diploma Course.

Age Criteria :  17 to 21 Years.
 

 

MEDICAL STANDARDS :
(a) General Medical Standards for Group 'X'(Technical)Trades are as follows:-

(i) Height: Minimum acceptable height is 152.5 cms.

(ii) Chest: Minimum range of expansion: 5 cm

(iii) Weight: Proportionate to height and age.

(iv) Corneal Surgery (PRK/LASIK) is not acceptable.

(v) Hearing: Candidate should have normal hearing i.e. able to hear forced whisper from a distance of 6 meters with each ear separately.

(vi) Dental: Should have healthy gums, good set of teeth and minimum 14 dental points.

(vii) Health: Candidate should be free from medical or surgical deformity. He should be free from all communicable
diseases and skin ailments. Candidate must be physically and mentally FIT to perform duty in
any part of the world, in any climate and terrain.

(b) Colour Vision, Visual Standards and
Leg Length for Group 'X'(Technical)Trades are as follows:-

Colour Vision :    CP-II

Visual Acuity : 6/12 each eye correctable to 6/6 each eye.

Maximum limits of Ref Error : Hypermetropia + 2 . 0 D M y o p i a 1D including + 0.50 Astigmatism.

Leg Length : *Minimum leg length required 99 cms for Mechanical System Fitter and Automobile Fitter.

 

JOB SPECIFICATION
 Group 'X' (Technical) Trades involve jobs like -
(a) Automobile Fitter.

(b) Electronics Fitter.

(c) Electrical Fitter.

(d) Mechanical System Fitter.

(e) Structure Fitter.

(f) Propulsion Fitter.

(g) Workshop Fitter (Smith).

(h) Workshop Fitter (Mechanical).

(j) Weapon Fitter.

Monthly Pay.
During training, a stipend of Rs. 8,550/-per month will be paid. On completion of training the starting gross emoluments at the minimum of scale of pay including Dearness Allowance (DA), will be Rs.23,655/-per month (approximately) which, in
subsequent years, may rise up to Rs.41,743/- per month (approximately) depending upon the rank attained.

                                                                                        SELECTION PROCEDURE

Written Test :  Candidates will be tested in English, Physics and Mathematics as per CBSE syllabus of AISSCE. Question papers will be objective type and bilingual (English & Hindi),except English Paper. Duration of Written Test will be 60 minutes. CANDIDATES ARE TO QUALIFY IN EACH PAPER SEPARATELY. Results of the written test will be declared on the same day.
Physical Fitness Test (PFT). : All candidates who pass the written test are to undergoPhysical Fitness Test (PFT) on the same or the next day. PFT consists of a 1.6 Km run tobe completed within 8 minutes. Candidates completing the PFT in less than 7 minutes 30seconds will be awarded additional marks on a sliding scale. Candidates are advised to bring their sports shoes and shorts.
Interview . : Candidates who have passed the written test and PFT will be interviewed.
Interview is normally conducted in English. Working knowledge of English is essential.
 
Medical Examination. : Candidates who qualify in the interview will be medically examined.
Medical Examination will be conducted by Air Force Medical Team as per Indian Air Force
Medical Standards as applicable on the day of the Medical Examination.
